Who We Are

Strengthening the Infrastructure Behind Long Island’s Nonprofits

Long Island is home to more than 6,000 nonprofit organizations—each working to solve real problems in their communities. From food insecurity and housing to education, mental health, and environmental justice, nonprofits are driving the work that keeps our region strong.

But too often, the people leading these organizations are doing it without the tools, visibility, or strategic support they need to grow.

That’s why Long Island Nonprofits was created.

We exist to strengthen the infrastructure behind mission-driven organizations—especially small, grassroots, and under-resourced nonprofits that are often overlooked by traditional consulting firms or funders.

What We Do

LongIslandNonprofits.org is a digital hub designed to strengthen Long Island’s nonprofit community.

We connect residents to local causes and make it easy to find trustworthy organizations doing meaningful work across the region. At the same time, we support nonprofits with free tools, visibility, and resources built specifically for small-to-mid-sized teams.

Whether you’re here to give, get involved, or grow your organization—this is your starting point.

Mission, Vision, and Core Values

Mission

To provide affordable, practical support that helps Long Island nonprofits operate more effectively, tell their story, and grow their impact.

Vision

We envision a Long Island where every nonprofit has access to the tools, strategy, and support it needs—regardless of size, funding, or background.

Core Values

  • Access: High-quality support shouldn’t be limited to large budgets. We offer affordable solutions designed for small and mid-sized nonprofits.

  • Practicality: We focus on tools and services that actually work in real nonprofit environments—with limited staff, time, and resources.

  • Transparency: We’re clear about what we offer, what it costs, and how we work. No jargon, no upselling, no confusion.

  • Responsiveness: We listen. Every organization is different, and we tailor support based on your goals, stage, and needs.

  • Respect: We don’t come in with assumptions. We respect the expertise and lived experience of nonprofit leaders doing the work every day.
